Week 10 - Progress

This week has mainly been comprised of preparing for our design review presentation. During this time, our team will present our plan for creating Spartan Superway Mobile and the project roadmap for the rest of the semester. The audience will mostly be comprised of people working in industry who will be there to constructively criticize our project. This is important for us because it is a chance to gain valuable advice from experienced individuals. Outside of design review, our team finalized the wireframes for the mobile app. Because of this, we are developing the UI at a good pace and will hopefully have a finished UI by the end of the year.

Week 1-9 - Researching and Planning

In the past nine weeks, our team has made great strides to understanding the needs and dependencies of the Spartan Superway mobile application. Most of our work so far has been comprised of gathering valuable information from Ron and mechanical engineering students working on the 12th scale model. It is important that we have the right information as we go along planning the roadmap for this project because we will be choosing certain technologies that will be in place for future senior project teams that will succeed us. After plenty of talks with Ron, we wanted to create the foundations of the Spartan Superway app in such a way that it will be presentable by maker faire and be extensible for future teams who wish to take over the project. It will not feel like true progress is made if the next team decides to start from scratch. Supplementing our project will be detailed documentations on the mobile application that will help newcomers understand the project much better. In the next few weeks we will be working on further implementation of Android, iOS, and our backend.
